Meaning of Our Logo
When considering a logo for our business, we couldn't think of a better focal point than the Cross of Christ. The Cross is where everything changed for all of us. The Cross is where Jesus bled and died for my sins and yours. The Cross is where Jesus provided a way for us to eternal life.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. " Romans 3:23-25
Our Logo Speaks to Three Points:
1) The momentum of God's purpose for our life. God will continue to move in our life to transform us into the likeness of His Son. The process of sanctification that continues throughout our life and fulfilled when we take our final journey home to Heaven. Complete in Christ, spending eternity in Heaven and finally free from the sin that is part of who we are today. Eternal life is possible because of the Cross of Christ.
A reminder that God has a plan and a purpose for our life, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
God continues His momentum in our life, pursuing us, loving us, and working out His perfect will for our life. It's just who He is and what He does for us. God's word reminds us of every detail of our life is planned by Him; "A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way?" Proverbs 20:24 NIV
2) The momentum of God's love for us. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NIV
Jesus was flogged, beaten, humiliated and crucified on Golgotha like a common criminal. The King of Glory, the Son of God, the Savior of the world embraced the Cross as the ultimate symbol of His love for all of us. And 2,000 years later, God is still shouting out to the world, "I love you." with the message of the Cross.
3) The momentum of our faith. Every day we have a choice to make on how we will respond to the call of God on our life. Every day we will face decisions that require a response on how we will honor God with our life. Every day we will face challenges, hardship, and at times, persecution for the faith we profess.
The world runs counterculture to what God calls us to believe and stand for. God tells us to forgive; the world says, "get revenge." God shouts love, the world shouts division and hate if you believe something others don't agree with. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV
We will have people in our life that want to push the brake pedal of our faith to slow or stop the momentum of our faith. Our response, stay focused, keep trusting, keep believing, stay faithful, keep rolling on the momentum of faith and continue to pursue the call of God on your life until God makes a way. His timing is always perfect, His plan is always perfect, His love is always perfect. Think about that for a minute, God's love for you is absolutely perfect in every way. God is for us!
"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" Romans 8:31-32
Because God was bold in His choice for the Cross to redeem us back to Himself and Jesus was bold with His love displayed on the Cross, we can be bold with displaying the Cross on our logo. It shows that we identify with the message of the Cross of Christ and God's redeeming love for all of us. There is no greater symbol of Hope for our world than the Cross of Christ.
As a Christ follower, I'm surprised when I see a Christian Church that doesn't have a Cross boldly displayed outside or even, at times, inside. You have to look to find where they've placed it. It just puzzles me as it is the symbol of hope to a lost and dying world.
It should be front and center of every Christian Church as a constant reminder of the love of God poured out through the sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ to redeem us back to Himself. The Cross is a victory symbol that sin, death, hell and the devil were defeated when Jesus died for us; "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross." Colossians 2:15 NIV
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." Romans 1:16 NIV
