Why the Cross is BOLD in our Logo
Share
When considering a logo for our business, we couldn't think of a better focal point than the Cross of Christ. The Cross is where everything changed for all of us. The Cross is where Jesus bled and died for my sins and yours. The Cross is where Jesus provided a way for us to eternal life.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. " Romans 3:23-25
Reading my devotion today, April 23rd, 2025, by Dr. Charles Stanley, 'Pathways to His Presence', Dr. Stanley shares God's perfect plan for the Cross.
1) The Cross revealed who God is and what he is like - compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth. (Exodus 34:6)
2) The Cross exposed Satan for what he is and, at the same time, took away his power. "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross." Colossians 2:15 NIV
3) Finally, the Cross unveiled a new covenant relationship with God, which gives all people the opportunity to experience eternity through Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NIV
Jesus was bold in His ministry and bold when He went to the Cross. He was flogged, beaten, humiliated and crucified on Golgotha like a common criminal. The King of Glory, the Son of God, the Savior of the world chose the Cross as the ultimate symbol of His love for all of us. And 2,000 years later, God is still shouting out to the world, "I love you." with the message of the Cross.
Since God was bold in His choice for the Cross to redeem us back to Himself and Jesus was bold with His love displayed on the Cross, we can be bold with displaying the Cross on our logo. It shows that we identify with the message of the Cross of Christ and God's redeeming love for all of us. There is no greater symbol of Hope for our world than the Cross of Christ.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." Romans 1:16 NIV
